A Saturday at the water, then a stop on the way home
Picture the usual summer day out there. The park has trails for hiking, jogging and bicycling, fishing and boating on the lake, and basketball and tennis courts. The Dragon Boat Festival draws thousands of visitors each summer.
Make our shop the stop on the way home. Colorado law restricts smoking marijuana to private areas only, so stop in on the drive home and enjoy it on your own porch.
The park, in a few facts
At 290 acres, Sloan's Lake Park is the second largest park in Denver, after City Park. The water itself is two lakes joined into one: the combined lakes cover 177 acres. Its approximate boundaries are Sheridan Boulevard to the west, 17th Avenue to the south, Raleigh Street to the east and 26th Avenue to the north, which puts the park's southwest corner on the same boulevard as our shop.
Long before the trails, the land around the lake was once Manhattan Beach, an amusement park that opened in 1881.
Ordering before you leave the water
The trip is short enough that ordering ahead pays off. Build your order on the live menu before you pack up, and it is waiting for in-store pickup when you arrive. An online order placed after business hours is ready the next day, so a late evening at the lake can still turn into a morning pickup.
If you would rather choose in person, flower at the counter is weighed from the jar in front of you. Here is how the jar counter works.
Neighbors around the lake
The lake sits on the western edge of Denver's city limits, with Lakewood and Edgewater among its neighbors. If you live on the Edgewater side of the water, our Edgewater page has the drive from there. Coming from the neighborhood just south of the lake, our West Colfax page. Hours and directions are on our location page.
